Interim Management
Decision-mandated interim leadership to stabilise delivery and restore execution control across complex portfolios.
From acute recovery to sustainable delivery governance.
When interim management makes sense
Often triggered by one critical project, interim mandates frequently extend to portfolio-level stabilisation and execution governance.
Typical situations include:
— EPC delivery losing predictability across multiple interfaces
— COD exposure increasing across the portfolio
— Escalating execution risk across sites, contractors or interfaces
— Leadership or delivery vacuum during construction or commissioning
— Investor pressure on timelines, CAPEX or asset value
This is not about optimisation.
It is about stabilisation, recovery and control
My role
In interim mandates, I take on line responsibility with decision authority.
Depending on the situation, I act as:
— Interim COO
— Interim Managing Director (delivery—focused mandates)
— Interim Head of EPC / Delivery
— Decision-mandated execution lead
This is an executive role with accountability for outcomes, not a support or advisory function.
Where required, this includes establishing delivery governance and decision frameworks to stabilise subsequent projects.
Scope of responsibility
The scope is defined upfront and adjusted to the mandate, typically covering:
— Delivery governance and escalation structures
— EPC and contractor interfaces
— Buildability and execution risk management
— Cost and schedule control
— Grid connection and commissioning readiness through COD
The focus is on restoring execution discipline, decision clarity and delivery reliability.
What I do not do
Clear boundaries are essential for effective interim leadership:
— No supplier roles
— No greenfield development
— No sales representation
If responsibility cannot be taken, the mandate is not an interim role.
Duration & Format
— Typical duration: 3 - 12 month
— Interim engagement, not open-ended consulting
— Defined entry, defined exit
Mandates are structured to solve specific delivery problems and then transition cleanly.
